Many of you may know me as Mel, Fabian's wife and co-owner of Sports Magic.I'm also a mum to two beautiful children and a Teal Warrior. Last August 2018 I was diagnosed with LGSOC Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma or Ovarian cancer (Low Grade).

For those of you who don't know Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynaecological cancer in the world. It is divided into two main types, High Grade and Low Grade. High Grade is the most common type (around 90%-95% of Ovarian cancers) and more aggressive. Low Grade makes up 5-10% of diagnosed Ovarian Cancer. Compared to High Grade, Low grade is relatively resistant to chemotherapy. If you are fortunate enough to go into remission (NED) approx 85% of women with Low Grade will have their cancer return. The current median survival rate is 8 years. We need to improve these numbers. We need to raise awareness and we need to raise money to fund much-needed research.
